IF YOU REQUIRE EQUIPMENT
and when simultaneous interpretation (SI) is needed, Interspeak provides the simultaneous interpreters, the specialized conference interpreting equipment and the technical support necessary to accommodate your needs.

SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION SET-UP WITH BOOTHS
Interpreters sit in a soundproof isolation booth and listen to the proceedings through headphones; while using a microphone, they simultaneously interpret what is being said from the source language into the target language. The meeting participants, each equipped with individual earphones, tune into the appropriate language channel to listen to the interpretation.

  • There is one interpreter booth and one interpreter team of at least two interpreters for each language pair.
  • Simultaneous interpreters interpret in 20-30 minute segments at a time and then alternate with a partner.
  • Technicians are on-site to set up and break down the equipment and to monitor the equipment's performance throughout the duration of the event.
  • The Delegate Interpretation System is preferable where there is a lot of interactive conversation between participants.
  • The Wireless FM Conference System is preferable where speeches and presentations are mainly in one language and where there are minimal questions and answers.
  • The interpreting equipment can be set up for any meeting room seating configurations, such as u-shaped, classroom, theater or banquet-style configuration.
This type of equipment configuration is ideal for multilingual meetings, conferences, conventions, summits, board meetings, and training sessions, since it allows the proceedings to be conducted in real time, without interruptions.

SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION SETUP WITH PORTABLE EQUIPMENT
This equipment is used primarily for break-out sessions and tours. The interpreters are not in a soundproof isolation booth, so their voices will be overheard by the participants, even those not requiring the interpretation.

This type of equipment is ideal for:
  • small, informal multilingual meetings where there is NOT a lot of interactive communication between participants,
  • for multilingual meetings where interpretation is in only one direction i.e. either from English into a foreign language OR from a foreign language into English,
  • multilingual tours, break-out sessions, one-on-one meetings and other types of meetings where participants need mobility.
